HSMAI Fall Mixer: Murder Mystery Dinner

Event Recap by Joanne Winter and Cheryl Street

Kudos to HSMAI's Special Events Committee for the very successful Murder Mystery Dinner, "The Curse of Tut" in October at the Arizona Science Center. 65 chapter members and guests took the theme very seriously, dressing in 1920's attire.

The evening started over cocktails, chocolate cigars and candy cigarettes in Middleton Manor when guests meet Molly, a cockney maid and Charles, the resident butler of this British manor house circa 1920. They are anxiously preparing for the return of Lord Middleton who was last seen with friends at the tomb of Tutankhamen in Egypt. Guests take on the roles of family, servants and friends. Our members and guests took their roles in the production to heart. There is definitely some hidden talent in our chapter!

Following the cocktail hour guests were escorted into dinner and murder and mayhem prevail. It seems Lord Middleton's train was late and he had sent ahead a very mysterious crate that was presumed to contain artifacts from the tomb. To add to this, Lady Middleton had become a recluse and had not been seen in weeks (despite the fact that her son from her previous marriage is in the midst of everything). It was a night guests won't soon forget!
