The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) is a global organization of sales and marketing professionals representing all segments of the hospitality industry. Founded in 1927, HSMAI is comprised of nearly 7,000 members from 35 countries and chapters worldwide. HSMAI’s mission is to “grow business for hotels and their partners by fueling sales, inspiring marketing and optimizing revenue”.

The Greater Phoenix Chapter was incorporated as a chapter in 1968. On September 1, 2005, the Southern Arizona Chapter united with the Greater Phoenix Chapter. With the merging of Southern Arizona into our chapter, we felt it was time to officially recognize that our chapter is representative of all of our members statewide, so we changed our name to HSMAI Arizona Chapter.

The 150-member Arizona Chapter is the fifth largest chapter in the U.S. HSMAI has been honored with numerous international and local awards including HSMAI Frank W. Berkman Chapter Awards of Excellence. HSMAI was also the recipient of two Arizona Society of Association Awards of Excellence in Association Management.

Much of our success can be attributed to our Chapter Past Presidents. These dedicated professionals have not only paved the way for our chapter’s growth and success but also continue to be instrumental in shaping its future.

The chapter offers members a variety of benefits including education programs targeted specifically to sales, marketing and revenue management professionals. These programs are normally held on the third Thursday of the month. In addition, we offer social, networking and community outreach opportunities such as the Annual Auction Fundraiser & Dinner, the Annual MPI/HSMAI Joint Golf Tournament, MPI/HSMAI GMID Celebration, and the Annual Awards Gala.

Our members represent hotels, resorts, transportation companies, entertainment companies, restaurants, destination management companies, meeting planners, airlines, golf facilities, audio visual companies, trade show services, tourist attractions, convention bureaus, and equipment rental companies, just to name a few.
